Gianluca Besozzi, MD, PhD is an ophthalmic surgeon mostly interested in vitreoretinal surgery. He has also performed corneal transplants and various types of glaucoma surgery.
Main fields of interests are in myopic traction maculopathy, techniques of secondary IOL implant and ocular traumatology.
He performed a more than 100 oral presentation and live surgeries in both in national and international meetings. He published several peer reviewed papers on retinal topics and he is co-author of scientific books.
He was co-investigators in various randomized clinical trials, mostly investigating intravitreal therapy for macular diseases. Actually, he is co-chief for a regional project to fight blindness due to macular pathologies.
