Alessandro Arrigo MD, PhD, is a medical retinal specialist and multimodal retinal imaging expert. He is project leader of the independent “Eye Repair Lab” of the Division of Neuroscience at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy and currently leads the Diagnostic Ocular Imaging Unit within the Department of Ophthalmology at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Arrigo has authored over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications focused on retinal diseases and multimodal retinal imaging techniques.

Dr. Arrigo is actively involved in academic teaching at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. He lectures in the Medical School and Ophthalmology residency program, mentoring both residents and medical students.

Dr. Arrigo is an esteemed member of the most important international ophthalmological societies, including Euretina, ARVO, The Global Burden of Vision Impairment, Young Ophthalmologists Retinal Imaging Society (YORIS), Choroideremia Research Foundation and EVICR.net.

Dr. Arrigo has actively participated in numerous clinical trials and has collaborated with both national and international retinal research groups, as well as leading global companies in the field.

He also plays a significant role in editorial activities, serving as a reviewer for some of the most renowned scientific journals. Dr. Arrigo holds several editorial positions, including Associate Editor for Frontiers in Medicine, Editorial Assistant for the European Journal of Ophthalmology, and member of the Editorial Boards for Annals of Eye Science, Eye Nature, Frontiers in Neurology, Ophthalmologica, Ophthalmology and Therapy, and Scientific Reports.

In addition, he is an active speaker at many national and international conferences.
