The ESASO Foundation

Educating Ophthalmologists.
Protecting Vision Worldwide.

For nearly 20 years, ESASO has delivered independent, bias-free ophthalmic education across borders—amplifying medical impact through the doctors we train.

3 pillars to sustain our Foundation

Independent Education

Education free from commercial bias. Structured, accredited, and scientifically rigorous. Academic integrity above all.

Global Accessibility

High-level training across continents. Inclusive participation from diverse regions. Reinvestment to sustain independence.

Social Responsibility

Doctors are impact multipliers. Each trained specialist improves thousands of lives. Education as public health responsibility.

When a doctor advances, thousands of patients benefit.

Education is an impact multiplier

Every ophthalmologist educated through ESASO carries knowledge back into operating rooms, clinics, and communities across the world. Through independent, high-quality training, we strengthen clinical decision-making, surgical precision, and long-term standards of care. The result is not limited to one classroom or one country. It expands through every patient treated, every complication avoided, and every vision restored. ESASO does not measure success in events delivered, but in lives improved through the doctors we educate.

The only way to unlock new technicques and technologies is research.

Scientific Research

We strongly believe in clinical research and in recent years we set up a new service to help physicians and companies to turn their ideas and projects into medical literature for the advantage of all the ophthalmologists around the globe, and their patients. ESASO Plus is our effort in pushing scientific research, leveraging our expertise and network to help the development of scientific study activities with support at different stages of the journey.

Non-profit. Independent. Globally responsible

Safeguarding Independent Education Requires Collective Commitment

As a non-profit academic institution, the ESASO Foundation reinvests all resources into its ophthalmologist education mission.
High-level ophthalmic training demands infrastructure, faculty dedication, international coordination, and strict accreditation compliance. These standards are essential to preserve independence and scientific integrity.

Structured support from partners, institutions, and members of the ophthalmic community allows us to:

Maintain independence from commercial bias

Expand access to underserved regions

Sustain long-term global educational programs

Supporting ESASO is not a donation to an event. It is an investment in independent medical education and the patients it ultimately serves.
