Pierluigi Iacono, MD, was born in Gorizia, Italy, on 14 April 1974. Doctor Iacono has currently an appointment at Fondazione GB Bietti in Rome. Dr Iacono achieved the medical degree from the University of Trieste and completed the residency program in Ophthalmology at the same University . He is a medical retina specialist with special interests in myopia, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases and retinal dystrophies. Doctor Iacono provided his contribution to more than 80 peer-reviewed articles published mainly in the areas of Medical Retina and he serves as scientific reviewer for many International Peer Reviewed Journals. He is a member of Editorial Board of the World Journal of Ophthalmology Doctor Iacono is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA).
