KOSHY Zachariah
Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Dr Koshy graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, India in 1996. After completing his basic ophthalmic training at the Aravind Eye Network he underwent higher specialist training in Glasgow followed by fellowships in surgical retina and medical retina in Glasgow and Newcastle.
He is a consultant in NHS Ayrshire and Arran where his main areas of interest are cataract surgery and treatment of retinal disorders. He is in charge of post graduate training in the department and sits on the West of Scotland training committee. He has authored training modules for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is faculty for the microsurgical skills course.
He has an active research interest with a number of papers and publications to his credit.
He is the Clinical Director for the department, convener of the Scottish Vitreoretinal Society and Chair of the Medical Society at Nuffield Hospital Glasgow.
