Dr. Alexandra Miere, MD, Ph.D. is a Retina Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology, Créteil Hospital, University Paris-Est Créteil, France.

Dr. Miere received her medical degree from the “Carol Davila” University Medical School, Bucharest, Romania, in 2011. She trained in Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology, University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest and the Department of Ophthalmology, Créteil Hospital, University Paris-Est Créteil, followed by a medical retina fellowship in the Department of Ophthalmology in Créteil Hospital.

Dr. Miere obtained a Masters in Image Processing from University Paris-Est Créteil and a Ph.D. in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at the Laboratory of Images, Signals and Intelligent Systems (LISSI), University Paris-Est Créteil, France in 2020.

Her scientific research focuses on medical retina (age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, inherited retinal diseases), novel retinal imaging modalities, and deep learning applications in retinal imaging. She has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as over 10 book chapters on OCT Angiography applications in retinal diseases. Dr. Miere has received awards for her contributions and serves as a reviewer for many international journals.

Dr. Miere is a member of several international prestigious ophthalmological societies, including the Association for the Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), International Retinal Imaging Society (IntRIS), French Ophthalmological Society, and founding member of Young Ophthalmologists Retinal Imaging Society(YORIS).
