TUTKUN Ilknur

Dr. Ilknur Tugal-Tutkun is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Uveitis Service at the Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Tugal-Tutkun received an MD from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and completed a residency in ophthalmology at the same institution. She completed fellowship training at the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Service, Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Boston, USA and has been a faculty member at Istanbul University since 1996.

She is a member of the American Uveitis Society and International Uveitis Study Group; a council member and section chair in the International Ocular Inflammation Society; vice-president of the Society for Ophthalmo-Immunoinfectiology in Europe; and a council member of the International Society for Behcet’s Disease. She is the General Secretary of the Turkish Society for Behcet’s Disease.
She has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 18 book chapters. She is in the editorial board of Ocular Immunology and Inflammation journal and International Ophthalmology journal. She has given numerous lectures on various topics related to uveitis at national and international meetings.
