He is a consultant ophthalmologist in Salisbury.

He trained at Moorfields and he did fellowships in oculoplastic surgery in Boston, Amsterdam and Moorfields.

He is President of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Past President of the British Oculo-Plastic Surgery Society.

The 3rd edition of the ‘Colour Atlas of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery’, co-authored with Richard Collin, published in December 2007, was awarded ‘Medical Book of the Year 2008’ by The Royal Society of Medicine and The Society of Authors, UK.
