Dr Luz María Vasquez received her medical degree from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and completed her residency at CES University in Medellin, Colombia. She completed a 2-year fellowship in ocular oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children, with the University Health Network and the University of Toronto, in Toronto, Canada. Then, with the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, she got a Retino-vascular, Inflammations and Intraocular Tumours master degree at Barraquer Institute followed by an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery master degree at Institut de Microcirurgia Ocular in Barcelona, Spain.
She was appointed consultant in the Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital surgery department at Institut de Microcirurgia Ocular in Barcelona in 2011.
She has published several articles in the ocular oncology and ophthalmic plastic diseases field in national and international journals.
