BRON Alain
Alain Bron is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Dijon, France since 1989. His main fields of interest are ocular infection and glaucoma. He has participated in many clinical studies (phase I to III) for the evaluation of new drugs and medical devices in glaucoma. He is a consultant for several major ophthalmic companies and the French Ministry of Health. His basic research is conducted at the National Institute for Research on Agronomy (INRA), where he is studying the influence of nutrition and lipids on the retina and the optic nerve in animal models. He is currently president of EVER (European Association for Vision and Eye Research) and member of the executive committee of the European Glaucoma Society. Dr Bron has published more 200 peer-reviewed articles (factor h = 36), monographs textbooks and chapter books. He is also serving on several ophthalmic journals as associate editor.
