He also holds the position of Director of the Acute Ophthalmic Services at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He qualified as a doctor from Madrid, Spain and he trained in Ophthalmology in the West Midlands and Northwest of England. He has introduced several new technologies and concepts to the Ophthalmic world at a national and international level.
He is actively involved with research, teaching and training of Postgraduates and Undergraduates. He is involved in training Vitreoretinal Surgeons and Medical Retina Specialists worldwide, as part of the world renowned Manchester Royal Eye Hospital Vitreoretinal and Medical Retina Fellowship. He is one of the founders of the British Emergency Eye Care Society, for which he holds the position of Vice-President. He is an Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow for the FRCS Ophthalmology Exam. He has recently joined the ESASO prestigious faculty and enjoys lecturing at the ESASO meetings and courses.
