Robert J. Noecker, MD, MBA is a leading ophthalmologist at Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut specializing in the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Noecker is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Yale University School of Medicine and is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Frank Netter School of Medicine of Quinnipiac University.  He did his undergraduate work at MIT, medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona and Fellowship in glaucoma at Tufts University in Boston.

Prior to joining the Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut and the Yale University Clinical Faculty, Dr. Noecker was the Vice Chair of UPMC Eye Center, Director of the Glaucoma Service and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  Prior to Pittsburgh, he was on the faculty at Tufts University and was Director of Glaucoma and the Ophthalmology residency program at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. 

Dr Noecker has more than 25 years of experience in developing innovations in laser and glaucoma surgery and has conducted over 50 clinical trials on the pharmacologic, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataracts and dry eyes. He has also performed landmark preclinical studies evaluating ocular pharmacologic and laser-tissue interactions. Dr. Noecker consults with leading ophthalmology companies and aids in identification and development of emerging technologies in the ophthalmic space.  He is on the editorial board of many peer-reviewed journals in ophthalmology, has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and has lectured around the world in over 40 countries.  He has been named one of Americas Top Doctors annually for the past fifteen years.
