Giuseppe Vadalà studied at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Turin, where he obtained the specialization and, afterwards, the PhD in Ophthalmological Sciences.
Furthermore, his surgical training path continued at the Ophthalmology Department of the Ivrea Hospital and was completed through the attendance of numerous medical centers in Italy and abroad.
The main areas of expertise go from the surgery of the anterior segment to glaucoma and to the ophthalmoplasty field. In the latter sector, he’s been representing a reference point for a long time, and he has also carried out activities as a Consultant at several medical centers (Ophthalmic Hospital of Turin, “Città della Salute e della Scienza” of Turin, and the Children’s Hospital Regina Margherita).
He undertook activities as a lecturer and speaker at several conventions and at training courses in Italy and abroad and he has also published as an author in ophthalmology textbooks and in international journals. He has received numerous awards thanks to his scientific work carried out from national (SOI, FMSI, SIDSO, SICOP, SONO, SOC) and international (SOE, ISD&DE) societies. He is at his second term as President of the Italian Society of Ophthalmo-Plastic (SICOP), where he has previously filled in as a Secretary for two other terms and is a full member of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS).
