Giacomo Panozzo, MD – Ophthalmologist, Verona – Italy
Giacomo Panozzo, MD, performed his studies in Medicine (1984) and Ophthalmology (1989) at the University of Verona-Italy, and then completed his formation with a retinal research fellowship at University of California-San Francisco (1990-1991). His main field of expertise is medical and surgical retina, particularly focusing on high myopia and diabetic retinopathy. Since the beginning of his practice, he is involved in activities of clinical research, innovation and teaching, and has published 32 peer reviewed articles and 16 book chapters. After completing the retinal fellowship in USA, he joined the Ophthalmology Department at the University of Verona as Chief of Vitreoretinal Service, and then other public and private Hospitals in North Italy. Since 2017 Dr. Panozzo is a freelance, managing his private practice and dedicating to clinical research and postdoctoral teaching. He is currently Chief of Vitreoretinal Service at Istituto Clinico S. Anna in Brescia, Consultant Ophthalmologist at San Francesco Private Hospital in Verona and Research Manager of ESASO (European School of Ophthalmology, Lugano Switzerland)
